Mother’s Day 2020 is certainly a vastly different experience to our previous years. Large family gatherings are out of the question, alongside restaurants that have been restricted to only providing takeaway due to social distancing regulations. However, with our #PamperMumAtHome initiative, you can bring the salon to Mum, allowing you to celebrate her special day and show her how much you love and appreciate her, whilst staying safe and healthy during the coronavirus pandemic. All of the items listed can be found at Pharmacy 4 Less, see our website or contact your local store for more details.
Manicure & Pedicure
Bring the nail salon home this year by setting Mum up with a luxurious manicure and pedicure, made extra special by you.
To perform a home manicure:
- Remove any previously applied nail polish. Try our Manicare Nail Polish Remover
- Shape nails. Clip your nails, if necessary, then gently file them into shape. Try our Manicare Nail Clippers and our Manicare Nail File.
- Soak the cuticle. Place your hands in a bowl of warm (not too hot) water. Soaking the cuticle before trimming is crucial, but over-soaking actually damages skin and nails, so limit this step to three minutes or less.
- Remove excess cuticle and callouses around the nail. Using a cuticle pusher, gently push the cuticle back away from the nail, but don’t push it too far because it can damage nail growth or fray the cuticle.
- Massage a rich cream or silky oil into the cuticles and all over the hands to hydrate and replenish skin. Try our Dr Lewinn’s Hand & Nail Cream.
- Paint the nails in layers. A base coat protects nails from staining (especially important if you prefer red nail polish) and prevents chipping. Next, apply your colour polish in layers, allowing each layer to dry between coats. Two coats of colour polish followed by a top coat to add gloss should be perfect.

Face Mask
There are several types of face masks on the market today, and each provides different skin benefits! Spoil Mum this Mother’s Day with a luxurious face mask right in her very home.
Some of the most popular mask types include:
- sheets
- creams
- gels
- mud
- clay
Hydrating. Hydrating cream or sheet masks are good for dry skin types. Some experts recommend applying masks overnight for maximum hydration.
Clay and mud-based. These are suited to oily or mixed skin types.
Enzyme. Enzyme cream or gel masks and bubble masks are good for acne-prone skin.
Gel. Good for sensitive skin types.
Antioxidant. Antioxidant cream or gel masks are good for hyper-pigmented skin types.
Once you know which face mask would be best suited for Mum, you can check out our stocked face masks here.

How to make a cup of tea for Mum
Surprise Mum with breakfast in bed and a lovely cup of tea to enjoy.
- Add 1 cup of freshly boiled water to your tea bag in a mug
- Allow the tea bag to brew for 2 minutes
- Remove the tea bag
- Add roughly 10ml of milk
- Wait around 5 minutes before consumption for the tea to reach its optimum temperature

Treat Her with a Treatment
Allow Mum a luxurious afternoon of treatments, covering all bases including a hair treat and foot treatment.
Milky Foot is an intense, at-home exfoliation treatment that will leave Mum’s feet looking and feeling rejuvenated. It’s one of the simplest and easiest way to exfoliate and moisturise feet. Milky Foot removes hardened skin, softens cracks and calluses and moisturises the feet.
How To – Foot Treatment:
- Place clean, dry feet in the 3D contoured socks for 45-60 minutes.
- After 45-60 minutes, remove your feet from the socks and rinse under water. Dispose of the used Milky Foot socks.
- Hardened skin will start to peel after 3-7 days. Do not forcefully remove skin
- Once it begins, the peeling will last up to 7-10 days resulting in beautifully soft feet.

How To – Hair Treatment:
For a DIY fruity hair treatment –
- Blend together two ripe bananas and half a cup of coconut milk.
- Coat Mum’s hair in the mixture and let it sit for 30 minutes
- Wash the mask out
- Bananas contain silica, which can help your body to synthesize collagen, resulting in stronger and thicker hair.
If you don’t feel like creating your own, try our OGX Argan Oil of Morocco Treatment.
